Our Prison Published Program is our initiative to help those brothers and sisters who are incarcerated with the most powerful and inspiring stories who have the desire to be published, just do that, regardless of their circumstances. We encourage people to become the best they can be by the pursuit of passion and creativity, which brings the best out of us all! At A Path to Ascension Publications, we are not unfamiliar with adversity, and with the added experience as our founder, Kwamene Nichols, has as an ex-felon who overcame all of his personal tribulations to rise above his circumstances and achieve all that he desired to achieve, we aim to bring this out of others arising form the same situation.
HOW WE GET IT DONE
As of now, our program is only offered to inmates within the Texas Prison system. All processes are tailored to fit TDCJ policy and procedures with respect to all TDCJ rules, policies, and regulations.
This process is designed to help inmates get their works published, and retain 100% of their royalties and profits. ‘A Path to Ascension Publications’ does not and will not take accept any profits from these works in a demonstration to encourage the authors to expand their creativity and to assist them in their fight against recidivism and protecting them from the cycle of re-offending. We will take on the responsibility on getting all qualifying works formatted, edited, and distributed at absolutely no cost and with the sole purpose on being the demonstration of love that we are all destined to be.
Meet Keith McCloud, One of Our Prison Published Authots!
Author Keith McCloud is one of America’s lost souls. Incarcerated at the age of nineteen in the year of 1990, sentenced to sixty aggravated years by the age of twenty-one for that first and only felony conviction. Mr. McCloud has since been housed on several of Texas’s most notorious units over the last twenty-five years, where he has put the use the tales of endurance he expresses in his work. This eloquent collection of poems is a testament to the power of human resolve and the hand of God at work. McCloud has crated a network that has allowed him to utilize his experience and imagination to impact the young men and women who are still enduring the same challenges that contributed to his going astray. McCloud represents the lost voices and presences of the many Melanin Fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons who will one day be coming home from prisons around this country! It is through his poetry and his writings that Mr. McCloud has found a way to allow freedom to be present in his life.

‘Reflections’ is a wonderful inspirational that was written with the intent of the author to connect with his readers through the emotions garnered from his experiences within some of the most notorious prisons within the Texas Penal Institutions, with those that we experience the most frequent in our lives. This eloquent construction is one of the most effective examples of how roses can grow from concrete, and why we are committed here at ‘A Path to Ascension Publications’ to discovering these hidden gems from within the Texas Prison system.
